ABOUT US
Your hosts, Ben and Georgie Lutyens, invite you to experience The Last Resort, a hidden gem out towards the Wairarapa coast at White Rock and Tora, New Zealand.
Our family-owned and operated farm is a working beef cattle station with a rich history and a long and deep connection to the land. We are also a renowned destination for private hunting, horse trekking, and immersive outdoor experiences.
A Place with a Story
Riversdale Station and Ben’s family history, are intertwined with the history of this area since Ben’s great great grandfather brought 700 sheep and a few cattle around the coast from the Hutt Valley in January 1845. Riversdale Station is part of one of New Zealand’s earliest farmed stations and the earliest north of Cape Palliser. It has been continuously farmed since those days and the cattle you see here would relate back to those earliest few. The land has seen many changes reflecting the changes in farming - the good and the terrible years, but we are still here!
This land holds centuries of stories, and we feel privileged to share its beauty and history with you.
