The Perfect Overnight escape

The Last Resort Walk is a private trail with exclusive access - allowing you to enjoy our slice of paradise all to yourself.

The Last Resort Walk is a 22km loop, starting at the station homestead on White Rock Road, on well marked tracks and trails through native bush, across private land, and over rolling hills with breath taking views of White Rock and Tora coasts taking you to your over night accommodation at The Last Resort, and back - all without the hassle of public roads or passing vehicles.

For those looking for a slightly longer stay, add a 7-10kms walk down to the coast on day two (or for the keen and fit after lunch on day one), then back up the hill to The Last Resort for the night, returning on day three.

When you’re ready to leave, lace up your boots for the return journey, following a different route that climbs to over 400m above sea level. From the summit, take in spectacular 360-degree views before descending toward the Opouawe River and back to the homestead.

A moderate level of fitness is required, and sturdy walking boots are a must — expect some muddy sections and stream crossings along the way.

YOUR DESTINATION

After a day on the trail, ‘The Last Resort’ is your haven.

“The Roost” offers four bedrooms each with two comfortable king single beds with linen, blankets and pillows and two bathrooms with modern facilities- no need to use the long drop (yes there is one!).

In “The Old Place” a fully renovated old bushman’s cottage, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge area with wood burner and another bathroom. Enjoy the artwork, some of which were drawn by Ben and Georgie’s children many years ago.

And after dinner, head out to the front garden to soak in the hot tub with endless ocean views - the perfect way to end a perfect day.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Exclusive use for you and your friends with a minimum of 2 people

For up to 2 people the cost per night is $560.

Each extra guest costs $150 per person up to a maximum of 8 guests.

Additional nights are $150 per person.

Whether you’re exploring the scenic tracks, unwinding by the fire, taking in the incredible views or simply being amongst nature, The Last Resort is the perfect escape to disconnect and connect, at the same time with your family and friends.

We welcome dogs, though they must stay outside and be under control at all times.

ADD AN EXTRA CHALLENGE: The Game Trail.

Some people may like to power up the hills, others like to take a more relaxed approach, stopping to look back at the scenery, let others catch up, have a conversation on the way and arrive at the top undaunted. With this in mind we have created The Game Trail.

The Game Trail is a walking game on the first section of The Last Resort Walk with simple clues to solve which will help get you to the top of the hill in easy stages. Every walker contributes $10 towards a sweepstake, with a maximum prize of $5000 to the first drawn correct answer.

GAME PLOT: Find the mole in the Mayor’s office and solve the mystery (not to be taken too seriously).
