The Perfect Overnight escape
The Last Resort Walk is a 20km loop track on well marked tracks and trails through native bush, across private land, and over rolling hills with breathtaking views of White Rock and Tora.
The track takes you from the station homestead to your overnight stay at The Last Resort, following a mix of bush trails, hill climbs, and stream crossings—all without the hassle of public roads or passing vehicles.
When you’re ready to leave, lace up your boots for the return journey, following a different route that climbs to over 400m above sea level. From the summit, take in spectacular 360-degree views before descending toward the Opouawe River and back to the homestead.
A moderate level of fitness is required, and sturdy walking boots are a must — expect some muddy sections and stream crossings along the way.
YOUR DESTINATION
After a day on the trail, ‘The Old Place’ is your haven. This space offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge area with wood burner.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are a short walk down the garden path, with fresh linen, cozy duvets, and comfortable beds.
Soak in the hot tub whilst taking in the endless ocean views.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For up to two people the cost per night for The Last Resort is $560. Each extra guest costs $150 per person up to a maximum of 8 guests. Additional nights are $150 per person.
Tailor your experience: some can walk, others could horse ride or bike, while others relax at the resort. Whether you’re exploring the scenic tracks, unwinding by the fire, taking in the incredible views or simply being amongst nature, The Last Resort is the perfect escape to disconnect and connect, at the same time with your family and friends.
Dog-Friendly Stay
We welcome dogs, though they must stay outside and be under control at all times.

Some people may like to power up the hills, others like to take a more relaxed approach, stopping to look back at the scenery, let others catch up, have a conversation on the way and arrive at the top undaunted. With this in mind we have created The Game Trail.
The Game Trail is a walking game on the first section of The Last Resort Walk with simple clues to solve which will help get you to the top of the hill in easy stages.
Every walker contributes $10 towards a sweepstake, with a maximum prize of $5000 to the first drawn correct answer.
GAME PLOT: Find the mole in the Mayor’s office and solve the mystery (not to be taken too seriously).
