For horse riders looking for an unforgettable overnight adventure, the Last Resort Ride offers a rare opportunity to explore untouched landscapes on horseback.
Ride through native bush, rolling farmland, and rugged coastal terrain, with stunning views over White Rock and Tora. No public roads, no traffic—just you, the horse, and the wild beauty of the station.
We cater for a range of riding levels. The ride takes approximately 2 hours. You need to be moderately fit to enjoy this experience.
After a night at The Last Resort, wake up to a breathtaking sunrise, then saddle up for the return ride which climbs to over 400m, offering stunning 360-degree views then descend to the Opouawe River and back to base.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For a minimum of two people the cost to ride to The Last Resort, stay overnight, and return ride is $480 per person. Extra riders - up a maximum of 8 - cost $430 per person for this package.
Tailor your experience: some can walk, others could horse ride or bike, while others relax at the resort. Whether you’re exploring the scenic tracks, unwinding by the fire, taking in the incredible views or simply being amongst nature, The Last Resort is the perfect escape to disconnect and connect, at the same time with your family and friends.
Dog-Friendly Stay
We welcome dogs, though they must stay outside and be under control at all times.
Your destination
After a day riding, ‘The Old Place’ is your haven. This space offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge area with wood burner.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are a short walk down the garden path, with fresh linen, cozy duvets, and comfortable beds.
Soak in the hot tub whilst taking in the endless ocean views.
